US Ready to Lift Naval Blockade of Iran — Statement by Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump held a meeting in the White House Situation Room to make a final decision regarding an agreement with Iran. He announced this in a post on the Truth Social platform, where he outlined the key conditions for resolving the conflict and lifting the American naval blockade.
Washington’s main demand remains Tehran’s complete abandonment of nuclear weapons development. The president paid special attention to highly enriched uranium, which he referred to as “nuclear dust.” This material was buried under collapsed mountains following strikes by American B-2 bombers about a year ago, and now the US, together with China, Iran, and the IAEA, is planning an operation to extract and destroy it.
Another crucial condition of the deal is the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz for free shipping in both directions without any fees or tolls. If the demands are met, the US will lift the naval blockade. American forces have already detonated some of the sea mines, and the remaining explosive devices must be eliminated by the Iranian side, which will allow ships trapped in the conflict zone to finally return home. At the same time, Trump outlined the White House’s position: until further notice, there are no plans to transfer any money to Iran.
Tehran’s reaction to these conditions remains cautious. Iranian officials have previously emphasized that they do not accept ultimatums regarding their energy and nuclear programs, expressing distrust in US guarantees and declaring their readiness for any scenario.
The situation around the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of global oil trade passes, remains a central element of the current crisis. A final decision on the proposed agreement is expected in the near future.
