Jerusalem to Host Golden Age Week: Concerts, Performances, and Tours for Seniors

The traditional “Golden Age Week,” one of the most vibrant and highly anticipated events for the city’s senior residents, kicks off in Jerusalem next week. From June 21 to 28, 2026, retirees and their families will be able to enjoy a rich cultural program across Jerusalem, either for free or at discounted prices.
Organized by the Jerusalem Municipality specifically for the older generation (ages 60+), the week will feature city tours, gallery exhibitions, lectures, theatrical performances, concerts, dance evenings, and much more. This is not just entertainment, but a tribute to the senior generation—those who built modern Jerusalem.
Events are distributed throughout the city: in community cultural centers (*matnasim*), near the Jaffa Gate, at the Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi Institute, the Levi Eshkol House educational center, and other public spaces. The opening of the week and several central events will take place in the historical part of the city. The full program is available on the official website of the Jerusalem Municipality.
Most events are free for senior residents of Jerusalem and other cities. Participation in certain tours and performances may require prior registration. Detailed information, the schedule, and registration forms can be found on the Jerusalem Municipality website in the events section (jerusalem.muni.il) or by calling the Department for Senior Citizens at *8840. It is recommended to check the updated program closer to the dates, as individual events may require advance booking.
Golden Age Week is an excellent opportunity for older Jerusalemites to spend their time meaningfully, meet with friends, and enjoy the city’s cultural life. The city authorities traditionally pay close attention to the comfort and accessibility of all venues for seniors. Don’t miss this highlight event of June 2026!
